A large college in an area of high deprivation and disadvantage commissioned us to design and deliver Advanced Safeguarding training to key staff involved in the safeguarding, support and academic delivery to young people and young adults at the college.
The training was developed in consultation with key members of staff and was scenario based, focussing on challenges that had been experienced by the college. This included dealing with high risk areas, transitional safeguarding, and escalation where multi-agency partners had not followed national safeguarding guidance. The course considered national trends and familiarised staff with best practice including fact finding, taking advice, boundaries working, good record keeping, not making decisions in isolation, and professional record keeping. A shorter course was designed and delivered to the Executive Board, considering issues around governance, culture, quality assurance, and strategic partnership working.
