Adele was commissioned by a large industrial company employing a significant number of apprentices.
She was asked to:
Advise on current company policy (particularly the safeguarding policy)
Advise on safeguarding structures and processes, and aid in their development and implementation
Devise a range of training for mentors, designated safeguarding staff, senior staff, and directors
Create a safeguarding course for all staff which introduced safeguarding, safe workplace practice, whistleblowing (and which enabled a change of culture in a historical very male environment)
Create and deliver a train the trainer course; and to support staff in delivering the safeguarding course for staff
Audit workplace practice (specifically responses to safeguarding concerns) and review the impact of the new policies and training programmes
Overall to help the company ensure that the workplace was safe and inclusive (particularly for apprentices) and that safeguarding concerns were being identified, raised and effectively responded to.
