HE-specific safeguarding training for a university

A well-known university commissioned us to design and deliver a HE-specific safeguarding course, considering the various risks and challenges experienced by HE institutions when undertaking student recruitment and widening participation work, work with undergraduates (including student members of staff) and staff welfare as well as safeguarding cultures within the university. The training additionally considered the statutory expectations of and duties assigned to universities and considered some of the relevant legislation, legal cases, and guidance concerning this. This enabled staff present to also effectively plan and risk assess for events such as open days, mentoring work in the community, events promoting the university, summer schools and work with student members of staff.
