Kleek Apprenticeships Annual Staff Conference (facilitator and speaker for the day) 2024

Adele hosted a one day training event as part of the annual training and development week for the different learning providers and salons, educators, and safeguarding staff from across the UK. Her training event offered those attending an opportunity to:

• Understand what ‘safeguarding’ means and be updated on principles and definitions in safeguarding children and adults; as well as consider current trends and causal factors.
• Consider some case studies which have been crucial in informing current guidance on safe workplace conduct.
• Discuss in more detail current and specific topics such as sexually harmful behaviour, radicalisation/extremism, county lines/sexual exploitation, and mental health and suicidal ideation).
• Reflect on the importance of safeguarding and through some work-relevant case examples, be reminded of the difference that they can make.
• Reflect on the emotional dimension of safeguarding and the importance of self-care.
