Regional Fostering Annual Conference 2022

Bringing together staff and carers from across the UK, the focus of this event was safeguarding children who are at risk of or being abused through child sexual exploitation. Hearing from both Adele and a survivor from Rotherham, Elizabeth Harper, the conference considered:

• The most recent definition of child sexual exploitation (CSE) and the current landscape
• Lessons learned from Rotherham and other areas of the UK
• Understanding trauma and its impact on engagement and behaviour
• Identifying and responding to concerns about children in care
• Practical tips for carers and professionals in caring for children and young people who have been sexually exploited; including addressing risk and responding to challenging behaviour.
